How to Spice Up Your Home?

Would you like to live in a space where you feel completely in tune with yourself? Are you wondering what are the right ingredients for the matching recipe for you and your loved ones?

Your starting point should always be a neutral colour concept for the overall design. Neutral means by definition “without colour”. The soft and soothing neutral tones are classic. They will never go out of style. Some examples of neutrals are beige, ivory, white, grey, or taupe. Each of these neutral colours comes in a variety of tones, or shades. When deciding on your neutral design concept, choose different tones, so there is contrast and appeal. Use a light ivory along with a dark beige. Pair white with grey or khaki. Another idea for varying tones is to use a subtle, neutral pattern. This could be a tone-on-tone stripe wallpaper for example. You might also integrate one piece of furniture, like a lounge chair for example, in your favourite colour.

For the balanced feel it is very important though to keep the base neutral.

Once you have the neutral concept in place, you are ready to colour up your home with decoration items. Just go with the flow and update your design based on your mood. This isn’t about Easter or Christmas decoration.

It’s about going inside yourself and surrounding yourself with the colours you need exactly in this specific period of your life.

Isn’t it fantastic to see your living space as something which needs to get a new dress from time to time? Your space is a reflection of yourself, and it reflects back to you at the same time. Let it be you and let it influence you in the best possible way.

 Your Home - Your Style

The style you develop is an expression of you, for you. If you are living as a family, it is very important to take care of everyone who lives in the home. Be open and thoughtful about the sensations of your loved ones. If you create the environment where all of them feel at home and balanced, a happy family life is guaranteed.

For the implementation, you can use all sorts of decoration items, like vases, bowls, flowers, candles, books, art pieces, …

One of my favourite design tools are cushions. Placing an assortment of cushions within a scheme is a great way to bring colours into your home and create a brand-new look. Either you go for a made to measure or you just buy prefabricated cushions, you can be playful and set up many different themes for all different rooms of your home.
